Il est de tradition aux Pays-Bas de se jeter pour une folle baignade en Mer du Nord le jour du 1er janvier et ainsi démarrer sur les chapeaux de roues la Nouvelle Année.

Avec le climat exceptionnel de l’année 2015 et les températures toutes relatives qui en ont résulté, il semble qu’il y ait eu énormément plus de postulant à la baignade en Mer du Nord que les années habituelles. Ainsi, ce sont plus de 10 000 hollandais qui se sont réunis le vendredi 1er janvier 2016 pour aller piquer une tête en Mer du Nord.
